REUSE HUB REMANUFACTURER

A lighting remanufacturer is a manufacturer who can upgrade and/or refurbish lighting equipment to provide a product which

  • meets today’s performance expectations,
  • and is backed with a new warranty.

Regulations require all components used in a remanufactured product to be compliant themselves.

Additionally, all reused and remanufactured units must be tested for electrical safety and WEEE compliance must be achieved during the remanufacture process.

Using the Reuse Hub

  • Prior to donation, the product should be in storage or at the Donor’s facilities.
  • The Donor approves a donation.
  • The availability period of the product is decided by the Donor.
  • Transport costs will be agreed between Donor and Remanufacturer.
  • If you wish to be a Donor and a Recipient, you need to register as both categories.

Ideally, the fixtures will be picked up and stored elsewhere, but that may not always be possible and the Donor company may prefer to agree a space rental arrangement with the recipient for a certain amount of time.

THE REMANUFACTURING PROCESS

This remanufacturing process flowchart is based on BS8887, the process for remanufactured and reconditioned lighting products.

It is an approach recommended when assessing lighting products being discarded.
