Recolight prepares for the Recycling and Waste Management exhibition

Recolight will be at the RWM exhibition in Birmingham in September, to encourage all visitors to benefit from free lamp recycling services.

The 2016 RWM event will take place on 13 to 15 September at the NEC Birmingham. Recolight can be found at stand 4G12.

Recolight is the only WEEE Scheme to offer a UK wide free of charge waste lamp collection and recycling service.  Most schemes with a lighting obligation simply buy lamp recycling evidence to meet their obligations.  Instead, Recolight offer the customers of its members a free of charge recycling service.

Recolight Customer Service Manager, Lyndsey Tweddle commented: “Recolight has a range of free and convenient WEEE recycling options, depending on the amount of lamps collected each month. For example, if an organisation collects more than 1,000 lamps in three months, we offer a free container, free collection and free recycling.”

She continued “Our service is available to all organisations, across the UK, which collect waste lamps. Currently only 9% of the members of our collection network are from the public sector.  That probably means that many public sector organisations are still paying for waste lamp recycling.”

Nigel Harvey, Recolight CEO, will be joining a panel discussion on Wednesday 14 September which will discuss how changes to the WEEE regulations impact local authorities. He will be joined by representatives from the DEFRA WEEE team and the Industry Council for Electrical Recycling.
