With the continued growth in purchases through online marketplaces, it is so important that companies operating in this way fulfill their environmental obligations; with financial contributions to waste management. All too often, they do not and the scale of their non-compliance has reached disturbing proportions.
Over the last 2 years EU workshops and studies have been addressing the extent of the problem. These have have helped raise awareness of the scale and impact of non-compliant online sales on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) systems.
The EucoLight conference will showcase the work now being undertaken by Member States. It will help create a road map for driving compliance within online marketplaces.
