Nigel Harvey to speak on WEEE changes at euroLED
Nigel Harvey, Chief Executive of Recolight, the UK’s WEEE compliance scheme for the lighting industry, will be presenting on the revision of the WEEE Regulations at this year’s euroLED, a unique conference dedicated to the science and technology of LEDs.
euroLED will be held on Monday 24th June and Tuesday 25th June at the ICC in Birmingham. This year, the euroLED conference is being led by an advisory board of ‘thought leaders’ from across the international LED lighting industry. The conference will focus on the following key themes: LED systems; LED engines and modules; LED components including drivers, optics, PCBs, thermal management, testing and standardisation.
The exhibition features the biggest brands in LED lighting, alongside innovative newcomers to the market. It provides an unrivalled forum for a vast network of industry professionals to learn about innovation in the LED market. Attendees will have the chance to hear from experts on topics such as LED components, as well as testing competences and LED products for the medical and industrial sectors.
With LEDs gaining significant ground in the lighting world, Nigel Harvey will discuss the importance of complying with the updated WEEE Regulations. He will cover the expected changes and how they will affect LED producers. His presentation will take place on Monday 24th June at 13.50 – 14.20, and will be followed by a Question and Answer session delivered by Recolight.
Commenting on the conference Nigel said, ‘The increasing prominence of LEDs means that all producers need to be aware of their obligations and the upcoming changes to the WEEE Regulations. I look forward to discussing the implications of the WEEE recast for LED producers in particular.’
