Trilux unveils luminaire to tackle Cat A waste

Trilux Yonos

Trilux has unveiled the Yonos luminaire system which is says has been designed to cut the material waste typically associated with Cat A installations.

The company says that traditional Cat A installations are often designed without a specific tenant in mind, leading to neutral solutions and significant waste when luminaires are removed during Cat B fit-outs.

Yonos introduces a modular, connective, and adaptive lighting trunking matrix installed during the Cat A stage.

This allows plug-and-play luminaires and lighting devices to be easily repositioned or added during subsequent Cat B fit-outs, reducing waste and offering a tailored lighting solution that adapts to tenant needs.

Trilux says its modular design means that instead of discarding entire lighting systems during Cat B fit-outs, existing components are reused and reconfigured, aligning with sustainable and circular economy principles.

Yonos has also been designed for resource-saving procurement, production, and recyclability.

With a CRI 90 and variable light colour for Human Centric Lighting concepts, Yonos ensures maximum quality of light for employees. This supports wellness, productivity, and creativity in the workplace.

The base unit consists of a robust aluminium profile with integrated power supply with tapping points. As an infrastructure channel with lengths from 650 to 2600 mm, it accommodates luminaire, functional and decorative modules and can be connected together to form linear continuous lines. It uses L, T and X connectors to create complex structures, either surface-mounted or suspended. Low voltage wiring is either five-pole or seven-pole.

All modules – which include linear and accent luminaires – completely enclose the base element, distinguishing it from conventional continuous-row lighting systems. Yonos features a patented release and fastener. There are nine optical options, varying from ‘normative’ to ‘atmospheric’.

Sensor-, control- and emergency light module inserts are available and control options include LiveLink and Casambi.

The Yonos has been nominated for a Build Back Better Award in the 2024 lighting category.
