Artemide system used recycled materials
Italian lighting brand Artemide has unveiled a major range which features the use of partially recycled, recyclable and easily dismantled materials.
Dreispitz is a single product with double emission thus adapts to the three dimensions of space with different standalone and systemic versions.
Artemide describes Driespitz as having a simplicity to its geometry and the freedom to allow designers to create graphic compositions that combine both horizontal and vertical elements.
The company says Dreispitz is sustainable thanks to its ‘intelligent industrial optimisation’ and the use of partially recycled, recyclable and easily dismantled materials.
‘Its use leads to a good energy balance due to high efficiency and dynamic management of emissions,’ says the firm.
Dreispitz is modular and dynamic not just in terms of composition but also in terms of its light management possibilities. It is dimmed and controlled through the Artemide App, which Artemide says ‘encourages waste-free awareness of light and leaves everyone free to create their own lightscapes’.
The Artemide Dreispitz is available in four different versions: ceiling mounted, floor standing, a suspended pendant or wall mounted.
Currently three colours are available (black, silver and green) and eight power ratings (15W, 19W, 23W, 30W, 34W, 45W, 56W and 57W).
Dreisptiz was designed by the Swiss architectural practice Herzog & de Meuron. It received the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 2001 and the RIBA Royal Gold Medal in 2014.
The Dreispitz will be officially unveiled on the Artemide stand at the Light + Building exhibition (3-8 March 2024, Frankfurt Messe).
The firm will also show Eggboard Circle, a pendant the combines acoustic control and comfortable lighting.
Its cylindrical body is formed by a panel with a distinctive sinusoidal section. This construction helps to reduce sound reverberation in the room as well as the cylindrical cavity trapping sound waves. The material is specially chosen for its sound-absorbing characteristics, particularly its optimal effect on speech frequencies.
