CU Phosco luminaires hit a TM66 score of 2.9
CU Phosco has announced that its P86x street lighting range has achieved a TM66 score of 2.9, one of the highest figures so far for an exterior luminaire.
It’s also one of the highest scores awarded by the TSD-012 TM66 Assured Product Verification Scheme run by Cibse and the Lighting Industry Association.
The rating applies to the whole family of lights, including the P860, P861, P862, and P863.
TM66 – a technical memorandum developed by Cibse’s Society of Light and Lighting – measures a luminaire’s contribution to the circular economy.
TM66 – ‘Adopting The Circular Economy in the Lighting Industry’ – provides a background to circular economy principles and sets out the drivers and barriers to its adoption.
It includes a Circular Economy Assessment Method for manufacturers comprised of 66 questions under four tabs – product design, manufacturing, materials and supporting ecosystem. Each question is rated and then scored between 1-4, where 1 is status quo and 4 is outstanding.
At the end of the assessment a total is generated, and a high score indicates a lighting product with good to outstanding Circular Economy credentials.
The P86x range has been designed with a focus on optical performance, thermal management, compatibility, and serviceability.
The range is 100 per cent recyclable, and designed to be easy to upgrade and dismantle at the end of life.
A TM66 score between 2.5 and 4 indicates excellent circularity, placing our streetlighting range at the forefront of sustainable lighting solutions.
